Inspired by an organ recital at age eight, Jed began lessons with Henry Fairs at

Birmingham Conservatoire's Junior Department. He has performed at notable

venues including St. Chad’s, Birmingham, Walsall Town Hall, The Methodist

Central Hall, Westminster, St. Sulpice,

Paris and Christ Church, Bristol. In August 2016, Jed won the Intermediate

Class at the Northern Ireland International Organ Competition and was a joint

winner of the Wadden Sea International Organ Competition (Junior Section). In

2018, he secured First Prize at the 'Jugend Musiziert Competition' in Lübeck,

Germany.

Jed also played double bass at the Junior Royal Academy of Music in London

from 2011, studying with English National Opera principal bass Hugh Sparrow.

He was a member of the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain for three

years, performing at major venues such as The Royal Albert Hall, The

Barbican, and the Royal Festival Hall. The orchestra also recorded Holst's 'The

Planets' for Chandos Records.

In September 2017, he began studying organ with Martin Schmeding at the

University of Music and Theatre "Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy" in Leipzig,

performing at Nikolaikirche and Thomaskirche. After a year of B.Mus. study at

Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, Jed continued his studies at Berlin

Universität der Künste with Professor Henry Fairs.

Returning to England in July 2022, Jed focused on his role as Assistant Musical

Director at the Elmore Chamber Music Festival. He served as Organ Scholar at

Manchester and Wells Cathedrals, concluding his Wells appointment at the end

of 2023. He is currently Director of Music at St. Mary the Virgin, Wotton-under-Edge.
